This certificate is not recommended for business websites because there is no organizational vetting in the process.

On top of that, it is also required for the organisation to prove that they are a legally registered business. OV SSL can be issued only to legally registered organizations. Individuals can’t get this certificate.
- Extended Validation SSL (EV SSL) is the most advanced and trustworthy type of SSL certificate. It is the industry standard for business websites. In addition to the SSL certificate indicators, this type of SSL certificate also has a “green name” on the address bar, indicating the EV SSL certificate. To receive this certificate, organizations must go through a much more strict vetting process that is conducted by human specialists. This certificate is most needed for organizational websites but it is especially important for websites that collect sensitive data from their clients.
